The MSUBA - Detroit Chapter is a volunteer-run, membership-based organization that provides a vehicle for Detroit area alumni to support and promote the welfare and interests of Black alumni, students, faculty and staff of Michigan State University. Membership is open to alumni, students, family and friends. We invite you to join us. Contact any of the Detroit Board members or visit Join Us to become a member.
National Executive Board Officers Elected
Earlier this year, new national executive board officers were elected. The new president is Detroit's own Chuck Smith. He replaces Rich Lewis who will serve as a board member in 2012 and take a year break from the board in 2013 per the eight year term limit stipulation of the MSUBA bylaws. During his tenure, Rich Lewis worked tirelessly to continue the legacy of the MSUBA and to grow the organization. In his farewell e-message he said it has been a pleasure serving the MSUBA. On the flip side of the coin, newly elected President Chuck Smith stated, "It has been a privilege to have had someone of Rich's caliber in the top leadership position of the MSUBA."
